Book reviews

I find reviewing extraordinarily rewarding.  I have reviewed for Scotland on Sunday for the past four years or so, covering a fantastic selection of fiction and non-fiction.

Here are just a few (in order of publication rather than alphabetical), some of which may still be available through the newspaper’s website.

The Bugatti Queen by Miranda Seymour 2004

The Jesuits by Jonathan Wright, HarperCollins 2004

A Little History of British Gardening by Jenny Uglow, Chatto & Windus 2004

The Reformation of the Image by Joseph Leo Koerner, Reaktion Books 2004

Love and Hate in Jamestown by David A. Price, Faber and Faber 2004

The Apothecary’s Daughter by Patricia Schonstein, Bantam Press 2004

Hawkwood by Frances Stonor Saunders, Faber and Faber 2004

Lucrezia Borgia by Sarah Bradford, Viking 2004

The Pope’s Daughter by Caroline P Murphy, Faber and Faber 2005
